{"id":228,"date":"2018-10-03T03:55:08","date_gmt":"2018-10-03T03:55:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/site.sltsd.com\/?p=228"},"modified":"2018-10-05T06:49:54","modified_gmt":"2018-10-05T06:49:54","slug":"228","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/site.sltsd.com\/index.php\/2018\/10\/03\/228\/","title":{"rendered":"SLTSD History"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"row\"><\/div> <div class=\"col-md-6\">\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">South Lyons Township Sanitary District was first named Countryside Sanitary District.\u00a0 After the City\u2019s incorporation in 1960, the name was changed to the South Lyons Township Sanitary District to avoid public confusion between the sanitary district and the City.\u00a0 The district was formed because of a 1959 special election.\u00a0 The district boundaries are north starting at 50th Street in La Grange, to the south 67th Street, to the west Brainard, and to the east of East Avenue.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">The District is governed by a three-member Board of Trustees elected by the voters within our district.\u00a0 The Board meets once a month, generally on the third Thursday of each month at 4:30 PM in the District&#8217;s offices located in Countryside.\u00a0 Board meetings are open to the public.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">The District is a taxing body.\u00a0 Though most of the revenue for operations is generated from user charges, based on previous year&#8217;s water consumption.\u00a0 A small portion of the District&#8217;s revenue comes from permit fees.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">The District has about 20 miles of sewer lines, 1,600 manholes, and 2 lift stations.\u00a0 We service approximately 1221 Residential, 40 Industrial, and 214 Commercial properties.\u00a0 SLTSD encompasses an area of about1,324 acres, which overlaps the political jurisdictions of the City of Countryside, the Village of La Grange, and a small portion of unincorporated Cook County.\u00a0 Land use within the SLTSD is largely mixed, with about sixty-two percent (62%) residential, and about thirty-eight percent (38%)commercial\/industrial.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"col-md-6\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright wp-image-229 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/site.sltsd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sltmap.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"378\" height=\"426\" \/><br \/>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[12,11],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/site.sltsd.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/228"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/site.sltsd.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/site.sltsd.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/site.sltsd.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/site.sltsd.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=228"}],"version-history":[{"count":15,"href":"https:\/\/site.sltsd.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/228\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":306,"href":"https:\/\/site.sltsd.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/228\/revisions\/306"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/site.sltsd.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=228"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/site.sltsd.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=228"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/site.sltsd.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=228"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
